For residents, penalties are applied similarly to citizens: imprisonment for up to 3 months, or a fine ranging between 20,000 and 100,000 AED.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Deportation:<\/strong> Residents are not automatically deported; the judge has the discretion to decide on deportation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Penalties for Possession of Drugs with Intent to Use<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Penalties:<\/strong> A fine ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 AED, or imprisonment for up to 6 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Repeated Offenses:<\/strong> Penalties increase to imprisonment for up to a year, or a fine ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 AED.
